Descripción del Tour:
We will commence our adventure with the mesmerizing “Road to the Clouds”. During this initial phase, we will trace the path of the renowned Train to the Clouds, appreciating this remarkable feat of engineering that began in the 1920s. As we journey across the Quebrada del Toro to San Antonio de los Cobres, we will pause for photo stops at notable landmarks like the La Polvorilla Viaduct. Additionally, we will visit Alfarcito, a charming spot nestled in the heights of Quebrada del Toro, where we will enjoy breakfast.
Subsequently, we will embark on the route leading to Salinas Grandes. This section of the trip offers a starkly different landscape, providing ample opportunities to spot llamas and vicuñas.
At Salinas, you will behold one of Argentina's most stunning white expanses, featuring sporadic turquoise hues and nearly perfect reflections. Guided by a local expert, we will have the opportunity to explore this vast salt sea, the captivating turquoise lagoons, and enjoy a special visit to the Ojos del Salar (access subject to weather conditions or seasonal restrictions by the indigenous communities overseeing visits). The guide will also share insights into the fascinating table salt extraction process. Here, you can capture those iconic photos jumping, in perspective, and with the reflective beauty of the pools and salt flat eyes.
Following our exploration of this salt mirror, we will embark on the third segment, crossing the Cuesta de Lipán, a breathtaking scenic route featuring a 2,000-meter descent over 35 km. Witness the transition from the arid desert of the Puna to the lush fertility of the more humid valleys. Our journey concludes in the town of Purmamarca, where a technical stop will be made.
From Purmamarca, we will begin our return to the City of Salta.

Although the Cloud Safari can be enjoyed year-round, the best time is between April and October, when the weather is drier and temperatures are pleasant. During this period, conditions are optimal for enjoying the breathtaking views and capturing magnificent photographs. The weather in the Andes can be unpredictable, so we always recommend bringing appropriate clothing for temperature changes, especially at high altitudes where temperatures can vary dramatically.
