Departing from Salta, we will venture into the majestic Andes mountain range via the Quebrada del Toro. This marks the start of the initial segment of the Train to the Clouds route, leading us to one of Argentina's most significant pre-Incan sites, where 2,000 natives once resided. Here, we will explore the archaeological site of the Santa Rosa de Tastil citadel, including its terraces, and visit the accompanying museum.
Next, we proceed to Laguna del Toro, situated at an elevation of 3,000 meters. This location is renowned for its stunning natural beauty and is an ideal spot for birdwatching, featuring species such as pink flamingos and Andean ducks among others.
