The Quebrada del Toro serves as the natural connection between the Lerma Valley and the Puna. For millennia, it has been a passageway for various groups, which is why numerous archaeological sites can be found throughout the area.

Embark on a mountain biking adventure through Quebrada del Toro, where you will witness stunning landscapes featuring majestic mountains and a quick shift in environments within the first 14 km.

Commencing at Campo Quijano, the journey takes you by bicycle towards the Viaducto del Toro, continuing to "El Alisal" station. The route then circles back to Campo Quijano alongside the Train to the Clouds tracks, offering panoramic views, a tunnel, a waterfall, and the historic Gothic chapel of Río Blanco, encompassing a total of 27 km of cycling adventure.

As you journey through the Quebrada del Toro, prepare to be awed by the breathtaking mountains and the swift change of environments within the initial 14 km of the path.

We'll pick you up from your centrally located hotel, and our adventure begins at Campo Quijano, famously known as "The Portal of the Andes," situated on RN 51. From this point, we will pedal towards the Viaducto del Toro. This remarkable railway bridge, constructed in the 1920s, towers approximately 28 meters above the ground and spans an impressive 250 meters. It serves as an ideal spot for a pause, offering a chance to admire its grand structure and capture unforgettable photos.

After a refreshing break to rehydrate and soak in the surroundings, we'll proceed with our mountain biking along RN 51 to reach the "El Alisal" station, marking the first 14 km of our expedition. During this segment, you'll observe the dramatic evolution of the landscape, transitioning from sub-Andean mountain ranges to a more arid and semi-arid terrain, where the distinctive cardones start to emerge.

At the "El Alisal" station, we'll take a much-needed rest to rejuvenate before heading back to Campo Quijano. This time, we'll follow the tracks of the historic C 14 branch line, also known as the Train to the Clouds, offering us exclusive panoramic vistas of the Quebrada del Toro. In this thrilling segment, we'll traverse a tunnel, cross the majestic Toro Viaduct, enjoy the refreshing breeze from a waterfall approximately 15 meters high, and pass by the historic Gothic chapel of Río Blanco, constructed in 1914. Ultimately, we'll conclude our approximately 27 km Mountain Bike adventure by returning to Campo Quijano, carrying with us lasting memories of this stunning journey.

Upon our return to Campo Quijano, you have the option to indulge in lunch or a snack (expenses to be covered by the traveler). Alternatively, you may choose to head back to Salta Capital, concluding the trip at your hotel or designated meeting point.
