Descripción del Tour:
Once we pick you up from your hotel, we'll journey by bus to the heart of the city to hear an expert guide unravel the rich history of Salta. Established in the 16th century by Spanish visionary Hernando de Lerma, Salta thrived as a bustling commercial hub. Discover the grandeur of Salta's golden era in its gold-adorned cathedrals and mansions as we tour the city. Today, the city of Salta is celebrated for its stunning and well-preserved colonial architecture.
Upon reaching the central plaza, admire the majestic Salta Cathedral, featuring twin towers and constructed in 1885. Learn about the national hero General Güemes, whose remains are interred in the cathedral; Güemes was a key figure in Argentina's fight for independence against the Spanish.
As we pass by the Cultural Center of the Americas, take in the Spanish colonial architecture of the Historical Museum of the North, situated in the historic town hall.
Marvel at the San Francisco Church, a postcard-perfect site with its impressive white pillars supporting a striking crimson facade. Its purple bell tower stands at 174 feet (53 meters) tall, with a bell crafted from cannons used in the Battle of Salta.
The tour proceeds to the convent of San Bernardo, dating back to the 16th century, one of the oldest structures in the city, and the monument dedicated to General Güemes.

Departing the city center towards the outskirts of Salta, we will arrive at Cerro San Bernardo, where you can enjoy sweeping views of the city and the Andean peaks.
Observe the monument commemorating the Battle of Salta and the February 20 Park, erected in honor of the battle fought and won here during the independence war.
Explore the nearby town of San Lorenzo, a popular summer retreat for Salta families due to its unique subtropical microclimate.
Upon returning to Salta, our final stop is at the Crafts Market, housed in a traditional white colonial building. Here, you can browse the creations of artisans who travel from across the province to showcase their products. Enjoy alfajores (caramel-filled cookies) and candied nuts, or shop for distinctive purses, blankets, and jewelry (snacks and shopping are on your own).
The tour concludes with your return to the hotel.
